Ulys

Ulys is the umbrella brand for U stores in Madagascar. The group has more than 10 supermarkets across the country, with a total of 820 employees.

The stakes of the mission

The challenge of the project was for Ulys to become autonomous on its SAP system, following a split with the Shoprite group. The aim was to adopt SAP best practices, while integrating specific adaptations to best suit the customer’s needs.

Some examples of specific developments carried out by Conseils-Plus:

-Creation of reports (price discounts, price changes, loss and breakage management, etc.)
-Implementation of SAP Customer Checkout Manager for gift card management
-SAP Integration Suite interface between the ERP and the checkout software
-ITS Mobile development for use of SAP on scanner guns

Another of Ulys’ needs was to be able to easily make decisions based on their data, a need met by the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) business intelligence solution installed by Conseils-Plus.

Finally, the implementation of S/4HANA Retail with the Fiori interface gave them an easy-to-use system with an enhanced user experience.

Conseils-Plus support

Following the project scoping study, which led to the recommendation of the SAP S/4HANA Retail solution, our teams visited the site to better target business requirements during design workshops. Conseils-Plus then implemented the solution and migrated the data. Then came the testing phase by the business teams, still guided by our consultants. Finally, our teams went back on site to train the teams on the new solution, and to support them during the Go-Live and post-Go-Live phases.

In all, Conseils-Plus teams visited Madagascar 3 times. And to support Ulys as closely as possible, we sent one of our consultants on site for the duration of the project. Once the system was up and running, we continued to support our customer’s requests for upgrades and adjustments through our Center of Service, Maintenance and Expertise.

One of the main benefits for Ulys following the implementation of the S/4HANA Retail ERP is the autonomy they gained in managing and creating their master data.
